When did it suddenly become cool to hate everything? It's a growing problem, especially in the entertainment world, and no one benefits from an increasingly hard to please, pessimistic audience.

as to why they don't open a church and get married themselves... a few churches WILL marry gay couples, but most of them aren't welcome into any of the churches for their religion..and you can't just "open a church." People are religious for a reason, and that would be offensive to any deity they worship. "Oh, well they wont let me get married, so I'll just create a whole new god who thinks it's okay."
being married in the eyes of the church and the eyes of the government are two totally different things. They still wouldn't be able to obtain a marriage license or receive any of the other benefits that married couples receive.
I protest because it's not right. Sure, this isn't my fight, but I find it hard to sit there and watch the government over-step its boundaries just so they can say "No, forget about homelessness or the decaying economy, look over here! See, we're doing something!"
America is a free country only to conservative, right-wing people. They are the only one's represented in congress, and therefor the only ones who get a say in what can and can't be done. Now I agree that we have to set limits on the citizens or complete chaos would break loose, but why should they be able to keep a HAPPY couple from being married? People get married for money and citizenship and politics all the time, so why in the hell does the government want to keep a nice, happy couple from taking that last step in their relationship.
and as for the whole, "it's not natural" argument... well neither are my hair color or pamela anderson's boobs, but no one's arguing against hair dye or plastic surgery.

And for the record, it's as 'natural' as any other birth defect if they really are 'born that way.' I don't waste my time on the religious argument because the Bible is clearly against it like it's against a lot of things. According to my understanding of 'evolutionary theory' the purpose of each member of each species is to reproduce itself. If it doesn't at least have the urge to have sex with the opposite sex then something is wrong. That doesn't mean we should oppress people with downs syndrome or any other birth defect, but try to help them.
The homosexual community has been very successful in its propaganda campaigns over the last couple decades and young people don't realize how they've been indoctrinated in their lies.
As for the 'religious right' running the congress, good luck. Yes the u.S.A. is historically a 'christian' country because that was the dominate religion and until the last couple - three decades dominated our value system for the most part.
The ancients created the religions for the same reasons they created governance, they recognized that most people are sheeple, herd animals, and only a tiny minority truly value their freedom. Putting a sticky flag on a car after a 'terrorist' attack or going along with the indoctrination of the day doesn't qualify.

You probably won't like it at first. But it's reality.
